Where can I download a free program for editing songs into ringtones?

I really want to have songs as ringtones on my new cell phone (which is a Motorola flip phone-not a razor), and I heard that I could get a program to edit songs for this. Is there a free program? Or a site that offers free song ringtones? I have Alltel if that makes a difference.
